Focused on Kamloops

Venture Kamloops is the marketing and economic development arm of the City of Kamloops. It is a client-focused team offering a full-spectrum support network for business and investors.

Our mission is to create economic growth through local business support and community promotion establishing the City of Kamloops as the premiere location for new business development.

With $464,000 in City funding committed until 2009, and up to $90,000 leveraged through partnership funding from other community resources, Venture Kamloops is providing the ideas, information and answers needed to attract new business to Kamloops and retain businesses already established in the community

Business Retention and Expansion

Provide business coaching and mentoring for new business start-ups and expanding enterprises
Partner with local organizations to lobby government agencies and major corporations
Provide assistance to the community for economic development projects
Assist with business revitalization projects

New Business Development

Promote Kamloops as the best place to live, invest and re-locate your business

Work closely with stakeholders to identify investment opportunities, trends, and local issues

Partner with other agencies that are involved in business development

Establish partnerships with industry associations

Create and distribute the Kamloops Community Profile thorough print publications and the Internet

Market Kamloops Opportunities

Create top-of-mind awareness and positive brand perception of Kamloops as a
great place to live and invest primarily through paid media in the Lower Mainland and Calgary
and earned media across Canada

The Venture Kamloops Business Development Society envisions Kamloops as the lead city in the Southern Interior, driven by a vibrant, diversified economy that supports increased jobs, city revenues, and new business investments, all which generates greater local wealth.
