Venture Kamloops is currently undertaking a number of community based research projects. The objective is to be aware of additional diversification and job creation opportunities as well as general economic trends that may impact the local Kamloops economy.

Intermodal Inland Container Facility Study - Identifies container sorting opportunities for the Kamloops Region through the development of an Intermodal Opportunity Analysis
STATUS - Kamloops, BC - Venture Kamloops and the Thompson Rivers University Advanced Technology Centre hosted an information and partnershiproundtable meeting on Monday, October 2nd to release the results of their Intermodal Opportunity Analysis Research Study and discuss its implications for future planning. The workshop provided a detailed presentation on the study's finding and an update from the Provincial Government regarding their intermodal study. Currently, Venture Kamloops is forming an industry steering group of community leaders and stakeholders to plan, partner and promote the inland intermodal container facility in Kamloops.

The purpose of the Intermodal Opportunity Analysis Preliminary Research Study is to better understand the following questions:
Industrial Land Study - click here to read report
Purpose: Determined the inventory of available industrial and commercial zoned land in Kamloops.
STATUS: Completed September 2005.
Manufacturing Sector Study - Kamloops manufacturers were interviewed one-to-one to better understand opportunities to support existing enterprises. Companies represented a cross-section of geographic location within municipal boundaries, industry and process type, and size.
STATUS: Completed January 2005
Kamloops Branding Study - Community consultation and interview process to identify Kamloops' key recognizable features and determine the perception values of Kamloops among internal and external stakeholders.
STATUS: Completed September 2004.
